A Story of Clay was born in the Summer of 2020 in between moving back to England from a period living abroad and navigating a worldwide pandemic. I bought my first bars of clay in June 2020 and instantly fell in love with the medium. From then onwards I spent days and nights planning, designing and researching techniques.
Many moons ago, I studied Art at university and I always knew I would find my way into a creative career. I currently dedicate half of my week to making beautiful jewellery and the other half of the week to teaching. I feel very lucky to have the best of both worlds and I can't wait to share my clay journey with you.
Each piece of jewellery made at A Story of Clay is designed and made by hand. First, sketches are drawn and colours are mixed using my own recipes. The clay is then conditioned, decorated, textured, cut and baked with love and attention. Each piece is then washed, sanded, buffed and drilled before the pieces are carefully assembled into their final form.
